Design is not ruled by public opinion. Timeless love and appreciation for your favorite knife isn’t committee driven. As the founder of Tensor Edge, I believe on a design to be focused, rather than multi-use gimmicks. If the knife is right, you should know the moment you pick it up the first time. And you should know as it becomes your regular “goto”.

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses ” – Henry Ford

I believe in making a knife one at time, by hand, with limited assistance from computer controlled tooling. I make every part of every knife in my workshop myself, no part of the process is jobbed out. I use CNC to control consistency where it’s critical. The majority of work of any Tensor Edge knife is done by hand, my own.

“It takes many good deeds to build a good reputation, and only one bad one to lose it.” – Benjamin Franklin

Tensor is defined in 2 ways that I find applicable to my ethos in making knives. The first is related to using CNC to control precision where it’s critical, and the second represents the dexterity and muscle memory that comes with time when manually working the craft:

1. Mathematics –
a mathematical object analogous to but more general than a vector, represented by an array of components that are functions of the coordinates of a space.

2. Anatomy –
a muscle that tightens or stretches a part of the body.

Sharpening services:

I make knives to be used - If for any reason your Tensor Edge / Exploro knife is dull and would like it sharpened, please send me an email and I will make arrangements to sharpen your knife for free, for the life of your knife.

I will stand behind my work, I personally guarantee every knife I make for life. I will buy back or repair any failed knife I make and sell.

I will refund the full amount of a knife that is sent back to me within the first month, for any reason, no questions asked.
